New Balance 550
The New Balance 550 is one of the most desired models in recent months. Paying homage to the 1989 basketball model. Used in the 80's and 90's, it is now coming to the streets with its slim line and different colours.
Originally known as the P550 Basketball Oxford, these sneakers were first released in 1989 by New Balance and although they were not an instant success in their early days, they are now one of the most coveted trainers in sneaker culture.
They were designed by Steven Smith with the purpose of creating a basketball shoe that respected the NBA rules but were not very successful in that area as their environment of triumph was really streetwear.
In 2020, creative director Teddy Santis brought them back by redesigning the silhouette for his brand Aimé Leon Dore and from that moment on, this New Balance sneaker became the favourite of many celebrities, trend hunters and sneakerheads.
The New Balance 550 is a trainer that has not been left out on the subject of collaborations and in fact they are quite numerous and coveted. Some examples of these collaborations are the following: Joe Freshgoods, Rich Paul or Aime Leon Dore.
