Nike Air Max 97
The Air Max 97 is inspired by Japanese bullet trains. Always with a wavy base design and a visible air chamber sole.
The Air Max 97 was born in 1997 and designed by Christian Tresser, a designer who had previously worked for Nike designing the Nike Spiridon. The designer created the first Nike silhouette to incorporate a full-length inner tube throughout the shoe.
These shoes were designed with a variety of metallic materials and reflective fabrics which made a big impact. In 1997 they were released in silver colours creating the iconic Silver Bullet.
When designing the shoes, Tresser used a variety of metallic materials and reflective fabrics to create an even more striking design. That's why, when they were launched in 1997, they were made in a silver colour combination. We are talking about the famous Silver Bullet.
